STRUCTURE FOR REDUCATION FEBRUARY 2012:

This is real world training - taught by working professionals, for working professionals and those looking to work in the field of Digital Cinematography and High Resolution Post Production.

Choose to take just the 3 Day REDucation class or continue learning RED by taking an additional 2 day special track class to encompass a full week of RED training with your focus in mind.

3 DAY REDUCATION CLASS - Taught by Ted Schilowitz and Michael Cioni

Monday, February 27th - Wednesday, February 29th

Time of classes 9am-6pm

The week of REDucation begins with the 3 day REDucation class focused on hands-on learning with RED Digital Cinema camera packages (EPIC, SCARLET and RED ONE). Learn, shoot and review 4K footage on the big screen each day.

Class topics/activities include:

• Screening of 4K footage from RED and Students
• Raw image capture and media choices
• Data management
• EPIC, SCARLET and RED ONE camera building
• EPIC and SCARLET menus
• Two shooting assignments at RED Studios Hollywood with full EPIC, SCARLET and RED ONE camera packages
• Post Production including monitoring, editing, color science and deliverables
• REDCINE X Professional overview and hands on lesson
• iPad Dailies
• Future proofing and archiving

CONTINUE LEARNING AFTER REDUCATION 

SELECT AN EXTENSION 2 DAY CLASS

March 1st - March 2nd

*2 Day Special Track classes will be held immediately after the 3 day class beginning on Thursday, March 1st and concluding on Friday, March 2nd. The classes listed below are taught simultaneously. Please only select one class to attend.

Time of classes 9am-6pm

CLASSES:

RED POST PRODUCTION (3 day REDucation prerequisite) -- This class focuses on:

• Post production techniques for on set grading and file preparation
• Avid, FCP and Premiere Pro Editing for RED projects
• REDCINE-X, Storm and Scratch

SHOOT, POST, PRESENT (3 Day REDucation prerequisite)

• Shooting exercises on day one including a music video and commercial
• Post lab for editing finished pieces
• Screening in 4K theater

REDUCATION OPEN HOUSE

Wednesday, February 29th, 6-10pm

REDUCATION OPEN HOUSE is a rare and not to be missed night filled with opportunities for attendees to view new RED centric products, learn best practices, hear latest buzz in filmmaking and hang out with other industry professionals. Special presentations to the community will be made by insiders at RED, as well as a screening of footage in 4K and 3D.

RED Digital Cinema is taking the next step in the evolution of our various education efforts with REDucation. The goal of this effort is fully immersive, hands-on, practical training and teaching of the RED ONE/EPIC/Scarlet camera system for both on set practices and post production practices.
